PLEASE EXPAND THIS TEXT FOR EVENT DETAILS

Join us on Sunday 31st May at Tabletop Republic High Wycombe for a Flames of War: Rapid Strike event! Rapid Strike events are designed to offer a casual yet engaging tournament-like community event that Flames of War players both experienced and novice alike can enjoy.

REFUND POLICY – Please read before booking your ticket:

We cannot process refunds for any ticket cancellations that occur within 30 days prior to the event start date. Please ensure you are able to attend and are committed to the date before booking your ticket, it helps us run a smoother tournament and means we are not losing out having to refund late drop outs.

Tournament Rules:

Army Composition:

Each player will select a Late War army at 70 points, conforming to standard Flames of War army composition rules using the latest "Dynamic Points". Every player's army must be fully painted though historical accuracy is not necessary within colour schemes. Miniatures however must be WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) i.e., each model should be constructed to accurately depict the type of vehicle, infantry or field gun that it is intended to represent on the battlefield and no proxying is permitted with armaments etc.

Further Army Restrictions:
We request all players build to a balanced, combined-arms force approach in order to provide a varied and engaging game for each opponent. In order to promote this, please see the following force requirements:

- Each force must contain at least one vehicle unit, at least one infantry unit, and at least one gun unit, not including HQ units or Independent Teams.
- No force may take more than 30 vehicles.

- No force may take more than 30 teams with the "Infantry Unit" keyword, not including HQ teams.

- Late War Leviathans are not permitted.

- No tank may be selected with a Front Armour value higher than 10.

Dynamic Points: We will be using the dynamic points system published by Battlefront through their Forces app. For more information on Forces head to:
https://forces.flamesofwar.com/

Please note that due to our position as a high street retail store,
we do not permit the German swastika to be displayed on any models or accessories. We appreciate that Flames of War is a World War II strategy game, but we hope our players understand the controversial and offensive nature of the symbol regardless of historical accuracy. Please ensure if your models have any swastika emblems these are covered in some way. We will insist they are removed from play if this is not followed.

Tournament: The tournament will be simple matched-play meaning there is no narrative aspect and thus it is possible to play against the same nation as yourself.

There will be three rounds of 2hrs each over the day of swiss-style pairings. The first round will be drawn randomly and thereafter players will be paired by score.

Players are encouraged to play as much of the event as they feel comfortable with. Although the ticket cost is the same Rapid Strike events are intended to be welcoming to experienced players and novice alike, not full-scale competitive tournaments. We will have a spare player / tournament organiser that can fill in or drop out should a player wish to call it a day after two games for example. Even if they would still like to hang around watching the rest of the carnage unfold!

Missions: We will be using simple missions that appeal to the fast play accessible nature of the event. To this end the first two rounds are simply played in the "Encounter" scenario, and the third will be "Free For All". To familiarise yourself with these scenarios, players are encouraged to see the latest Flames of War mission pack published by Battlefront Miniatures:

Scoring:

Scoring for the event will be calculated in the following order:
1.) Games Won
2.) Strength of Schedule (Combined Opponents' Scores.)

3.) Victory Points as per the Flames of War Rulebook
4.) Teams Destroyed

Sportsmanship: We expect all players to generally behave in a sporting manner. Pre-measuring is allowed in Flames of War and thus we advise communication as you go along is key to avoid disagreements – e.g. “are you happy that this is hull down?” when positioning in the movement phase is better than “I intended that to be hull down” in the opposition's shooting phase. Unseemly gamesmanship and outright cheating will of course not be tolerated.

Second Place
