PLEASE EXPAND THIS TEXT FOR FULL DETAILS
Bucks Early War Weekender - A 100 point Early War Flames of War V4 Tournament at Tabletop Republic High Wycombe on 17th - 18th October 2026.
REFUND POLICY – Please read before booking your ticket: We cannot process refunds for any ticket cancellations that occur within 30 days prior to the event start date. Please ensure you are able to attend and are committed to the date before booking your ticket, it helps us run a smoother tournament and means we are not losing out having to refund late drop outs.
Army Composition:
Each player will select an Early War army at 100 points, conforming to standard Flames of War army composition rules. All armies must be fully painted (at least 3 colours) and in a colour befitting WW2 (ie no Pink Panthers or Warhammer Ultramarine colour schemes). Any miniatures not fully painted will be removed from the table prior to starting the tournament. No proxy models are permitted, players should use the correctly sized vehicles as well as gun and infantry teams. Infantry teams representing different weapon configurations e.g. a Rifle/MG armed infantry platoon may be used as MG armed infantry platoons as long as platoons are clearly distinguishable. If in doubt, ask prior to the event.
The cut off for new Early War forces will be 19/09/26, forces must be available on forces.flamesofwar.com by this date otherwise they cannot be used for this event.
Wildcard units are not permitted.
Please note that due to our position as a high street retail store, we do not permit the German swastika to be displayed on any models or accessories. We appreciate that Flames of War is a World War II strategy game, but we hope our players understand the controversial and offensive nature of the symbol regardless of historical accuracy. Please ensure if your models have any swastika emblems these are covered in some way. We will insist they are removed from play if this is not followed.
List Submission:
Lists must be submitted by 10/10/26 23:59. Players who submit a list late will have 1 point deducted from their final tournament score and a late list penalty will be considered for tie breakers. If a list is submitted which isn’t legal then the player has 48hrs after the deadline to rectify, or 1pt will be deducted.
Email list to: HHPainted@gmail.com
Combat Command:
Players are to register for the event on combat command by 10/10/26 23:59.
Players unregistered at this time will have a 1pt deduction (cumulative).
Tournament:
The tournament will be simple matched-play meaning there is no narrative aspect and thus it is possible to play against the same nation as yourself.
There will be three rounds over the day of swiss-style pairings. The first round will be drawn randomly and thereafter players will be paired by score.
Missions:
We will be using the latest official mission pack - March 2026
The cut off for a new mission pack will be 19/09/26. Missions packs published after this date will not be in use at the event.
Scoring:
Scoring will be based on the victory points table as per the Flames of War rulebook. Points scored will be the first tiebreaker, followed by list submission and then unit kills.
Sportsmanship:
We expect all players to generally behave in a sporting manner. Pre-measuring is allowed in Flames of War and thus we advise communication as you go along is key to avoid disagreements – e.g. “are you happy that this is hull down?” when positioning in the movement phase is better than “I intended that to be hull down” in the opposition's shooting phase. Unseemly gamesmanship and outright cheating will of course not be tolerated.
Food:
Food is not included in the ticket price; there is a range of other establishments in short walking distance that sell hot and cold food.
Awards:
There will be awards for the following:
First Place
Second Place
Third Place

Best Painted Army
