SUMMARY
The Scarlet Throne was a mixed event - both as a player and as a TO. On the TO front, we sadly had 1 dropout from the event pre-event, so our backup player Scott didn't play to even out the numbers. Then after round 2, we had 2 players drop reducing our finals numbers to 20 out of 24 tickets.
As a player, I was demolished R1 by Chaos Knights and carefully deconstructed R2 by GK - but luckily I was spared a wooden spoon after a close R3 win. My Monster Mash Daemons list sadly came up against 2 deadly anti-Daemon lists; with the CK list having the Abominant that ignored Be'lakor's debuffs, and a GK list made around slaying Daemons!
Because of the dropouts, we had only 2 undefeated players; with one 2-1 player on the podium. A triple Kasrkin list demolished all it came across (while we all pray for that early Dataslate), and Paulie returns to the podium with his infamous orange Drukhari. Blitzkrieg's Dan rounded up the top 3 with a strong scoring Ork list.
This was the penultimate event using our own "custom" terrain using 4 big and 2 small ruins as a different version of the GW official version, By the 2-dayer at the start of April, we will have all tables with UKTC official terrain and missions!
